Want to know my secrets to soft-silky hair? In this post, I’m spilling the beans on my top 5 must-have healthy hair products that I live and swear by:
My go-to shampoo and conditioner! I’ve been using this product for a year now and I wonder what I was doing before introducing this product into my hair routine. I love that it instantly makes my hair feel clean, soft and shiny. What I really love about this product is that it uses healthy ingredients for healthy hair. It has no silicones, parabens or sulfates. It’s ingredients are vegan and uses pure coconut water and pure aloe juice – this is probably the reason why my hair feels so hydrated after use. Maui Moisture has a variety of collections that tailor to an individuals wants and needs – my personal favourite is the Revive & Hydrate + Shea Butter collection because I have such dry hair (from all colour treatments I’ve done in the past). BUT the best part is that it doesn’t break the bank, you can get this at your local drug store and other major retailers across Canada for $10.99 CAD.
I only wash my hair, maybe three times a week – no it’s not gross! You really shouldn’t wash your hair everyday as it does more damage than good (I can get into this but I’ll save it for another post). Since I don’t wash my hair everyday, there are days when my hair feels oily and overall just not clean. This is where, your friend, dry-shampoo comes into play. Now, I’ve tried a lot of dry shampoo in my day but the one that I keep going back to is Alterna Haircare’s CAVIAR Anti-Aging Sheer Dry Shampoo Powder Spray. This dry shampoo is great for all hair types and the powder spray actually delivers a mess-free application, absorbs excess oils and adds texture and volume. I wish this between washes and it instantly makes my hair feel freshly cleansed. It’s also free from parabens, sulfates and phthalates. $31 CAD
Okay, I have the typical Asian hair – very straight and silky. Although not a bad thing, it really sucks when I’m trying to hold in curls and volume. The Bodifying Bamboo Fire Full collections consists of a Big Hairspray, Sugar High Tousle Spray and Root Boosting Spray Mousse. After using this product a couple of times, I’m happy to report that this collection can hold my curls and volume for pretty much the whole day! $7 CAD
I’ve never tried a cleaning oil shampoo before, I really didn’t even know it was a thing and it figured it worked the same as a shampoo – but, boy, I was wrong. A shampoo is meant to clean and be moisturizing while a cleanser is meant to clean the hair and scalp. After using this product my scalp does feel much more balanced, as I can go a second or third day without shampooing and it still feels as fresh. The formula is paraben and silicone-free, which provides moisture and volume to my hair without stripping my scalp of its natural oils. $56 CAD
I really like this oil, as soon as it’s applied to my hair it instantly vanishes and it protects against heat and UV damage (this is amazing as I style my hair a lot with my curling rod). Also, it adds moisture, detangles and softens my hair without making it feel greasy. Here’s a great key fact: The Hairdresser’s Invisible Oil line is infused with six lightweight oils for a sublime transformation: grapeseed oil, safflower seed oil, sweet almond oil, macadamia nut oil, argan oil, and coconut oil. $50 CAD
Have a great hair day, loves! 🙂
