Top Brunch Spots in Toronto

When I think of the weekend, the first thing that pops into my mind is brunch! In Toronto, there are endless spots to order an eggs benny, avocado toast, pancakes and breakfast platters.

I’ve experienced my fair share of brunch spots in Toronto, so whether you’re new or native to the city I’ve rounded up my best brunch places to check out:

1. Insomnia

This is my #1 brunch spot. I’m not the biggest fan of homefries, but they lather their homefries in some sort of sauce and it’s heavenly! Also, love their gluten-free curried rice patties. If you haven’t been to Insomnia yet, you haven’t lived.

Location: 563 Bloor St W, Toronto, ON
Hours: Mon-Fri, 10 am – 2 am
Sat-Sun, 9 am – 2 am

My menu picks:

Gluten-free curried rice patties served with poached eggs, whole wheat English muffins, hollandaise, mixed greens and homefries their legendary sauce

2. Lady Marmalade

I’ve visited this brunch spot a few times and the great thing about them is that their very consistent with their meals. I love a good eggs benny and they have one of the best in the city.

Location: 265 Broadview Ave, Toronto, ON
Hours: Mon-Sun, 8 am – 3 pm

My menu picks:

3 scrambled (or poached) eggs topped with cheese
& salsa served with guacamole, black beans &
organic wheat tortilla (sub organic tofu for eggs)

with hollandaise, home fries & salad or tomatoes
brie, avocado & bacon | 18

3. Starving Artist

I am obsessed with their potato waffles! The poached egg was cooked to perfection, love me a good runny yolk. Their sides are also delicious! I got the potato salad (clearly I can’t get enough of potatoes) and it was very creamy. I’ll admit this is a heavy brunch and I gobbled up every bite in one sitting but – worth it!

Location: Multiple – I visited the Markham location (5762 Highway 7 East Unit 3 Markham, Ontario)
Hours: Mon-Sun, 9 am – 6 pm

My menu picks:

2 potato waffles topped with poached eggs & caramelized bacon & hollandaise sauce. Garnished with chives. With a side of potato salad

2 mini waffles topped with poached eggs, caramelized bacon & hollandaise sauce. Garnished with chives. With a side of maple beans

4. Baddies

If you’re looking for a cool, hip vibe then Baddies is the place for you. It is quite small so sometimes getting a table isn’t easy but the food is really delicious. I’m in love with the avocado toast with bacon – simply divine!

Location: 679 Lansdowne Ave, Toronto, ON
Hours: Mon-Fri, 8 am – 4 pm
Sat-Sun, 9 am – 4 pm

My menu picks:

5. Smith

This brunch spot was more on the pricier side. The leek fondue on the benedict’s are to die for! Also, the homefries were crispy but fluffy on the inside – I’m typically not a homefries fan as sometimes it’s too dry for me but these ones were cooked beautifully.

Location: 553 Church St, Toronto, ON
Hours: Wed-Thurs, 11 am – 4 pm, 5 pm – 11 pm
Fri, 11 am – 4 pm, 5 pm – 12 am
Sat, 9 am – 4 pm, 5pm – 12 am
Sun, 9 am – 4 pm
*They are closed Monday and Tuesday

My menu picks:

Served on an english muffin with two poached eggs, smoked salmon, leek fondue & homefries
